So often I’d tried at exercise and failed. I exercised too hard and too fast for a few weeks, got tired, sore, injured, depressed or all of the above. And since I didn’t lose a lot of weight I decided I was a failure. Until I learned to start small, progress slowly and define success in a smart way for me.

Since then she’s owned a software company, a marketing and PR company and currently works as a celebrated author and fancy-schmancy Hollywood producer. In her spare time, The Fat Chick teaches aerobics several times a week, as a certified instructor, trains for running races and triathlons and lives not too quietly with her husband Brian and dog Max somewhere in CA.
Jeanette DePatie (A.K.A. The Fat Chick) has a masters degree in opera from a ivy league university. However, she discovered early in her career that A) she really loves to eat, and B) opera singing doesn’t pay enough to buy supper.
